Ban Chiang Terracotta Decorated Pot

Description

A beautiful and primitive terracotta Ban Chiang Pot. Bulbous body with waisted neck and flaring open mouth. Stylistically very beautiful with decorative incising to the lower part of the pot as decoration. The upper darker section a smooth tactile surface with earth accretions attached in areas.

Origin

North Eastern Thailand. Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province Thailand. Circa 3rd Century BC to 2nd AD

Height 15.5cm x 16cm wide

Condition

Good ancient condition with earth accretions attached. Small nip to rim of pot which mainly affect slightly the underneath of the rim. Refer to last 2 photos.
