Romano-Egyptian Terracotta Grotesque Figure carrying a Fruit Basket

Description
A cast terracotta figure of a servant with grotesque features, a pointed cap, and a short tunic. He carries a pouch in his right hand and slings an overflowing fruit basket over his left shoulder. There is a large opening between his legs, perhaps for the insertion of an oversized phallus.
Provenance: Ex RL Collection, Lower Saxony. Acquired from Galerie Puhze, Freiburg, between 2002 and 2010. (With certificate).
