Roman Bronze Cockerel Finial

Description

A fabulous bronze Roman cockerel finial on a custom made stand. Circa 2nd to 3rd Century AD. Cockerel has extensive feathered detailing all over body, tail and head. The fan shaped part of thew finial has very slight enamel remnants and what is possibly silver wire inlay in a peacock tail style.

Condition

Very good ancient condition. Very tiny loss to top curve of tail feather.
