Medieval Knight’s Bronze Heraldic Horse Harness Pendant Pair

Description

A pair of bronze Medieval Knight’s heraldic horse pendants. Remains of enamelling to the surface of both, one in octofoil shape. The smaller rosette style pendant with 4 crosses decorating the surface. Harness pendants were a decorative item hung from the harness of horses, primarily from the breast band. They were mainly used in the Roman, early-medieval and medieval periods and usually have no function other than as decoration.

Medieval England circa 14th to 15th AD

Measurements

Octofoil object is 5.5cm high and 4.5cm wide. Height of stand 14.5cm

Condition

Both in decent condition for age with remains of enamelling. Presented on a custom made stand.
