A beautiful and primitive terracotta Ban Chiang bull with iron horns. Missing part of horns in its ancient past. The highlight of this piece its triangular shaped head which gives it a very primitive and stylised appearance. Small bulbous area that represent its eyes add to its primitive visage. A compact strong body with stout strong legs. Presented on a custom made stand.

North Eastern Thailand. Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province Thailand. Circa 3rd Century BC to 2nd AD

Condition

Good ancient condition with part of iron horn missing and oxidisation of metal. The iron has been stabilised. Presented on a custom block stand for presentation purposes.
