Roman Bronze Female Head Applique

Description

A lovely Roman bronze female facial appliqué. Almond shaped eyes with wavy hair detailing, ears pierced for attachments. Remains of a suspension loop at top of the head. Could have been part of a clothing decoration or elaborate larger piece of jewellery.Presented on a custom made stand.

Roman Empire 2nd to 3rd century AD

Brooch 2.3 cm long. Height on stand 8 cm

Condition

Face intact with losses to what was previously a suspension loop. Good ancient condition.
