Description

A Greek terracotta standing Goddess wearing a Chiton and himation, and carrying what appears to be a small animal,  likely a baby deer. Possibly Artemis holding an animal. She was the goddess of wild animals, the hunt, childbirth among other responsibilities. In her role as the goddess of animals, she was also the protector of baby animals. Hollow cast. Reference British Museum 1863,0728.268 and 1926,0324.11
