Bactrian Bronze Mirror with Figural Human Handle

Description

Lovel Bactrian bronze disc mirror with figural handle. Detailed facial features with incised mouth, prominent nose and eyes highlighted by raised eye sockets and eye brows. Tall spiky hair and earrings in ears.

Origin

Ancient Bactria Circa 2000 to 1500 BC. Bactria was an ancient Iranian civilization situated in Central Asia, in the area south of the Oxus River, and north of the mountains of the Hindu Kush, an area within the north of modern day Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Object Height 20cm x 10 cm width. Height on two piece stand 25 cm

Condition

Good ancient condition with lovely Verdigris finish. As per last photo I’ve highlighted two small pin holes in the mirrors surface.
